The NHL is pausing the current season of play on Wednesday evening to take a break before resuming their regular schedule after Christmas. This move follows cases being reported amongst players who have come down sick due COVID -19, which will make them unable to work during this time period and potentially linger longer than expected.

On top of this decision, the NHL is vaccinated. Apparently all of the NHL except Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi is vaccinated. The league and players’ association recommended the vaccine booster to all parties this season; however no mandate has been planned yet.
NHL players are having outbreaks among young people who are vaccinated, elite athletes testing positive for COVID infections. It doesn’t make sense that this is happening yet another piece of bad luck toward what has already been an unlucky year so far.
Vaccinated players testing positive for COVID in a fully vaccinated league. Is this a joke? Young healthy and mostly asymptomatic young men and the league feels the need to pause? You would expect this type of drama from the NBA.
Why is the NHL so soft? Probibly because of Canada. Canada may be one of the most spineless countries in the world. Unfortunately, the nations number one sport will get dragged through the wimp gauntlet with its affiliations to Canada.
