Jack Ma, the co-founder and former executive chairman of Alibaba Group, is missing. The last time anyone heard from him was a tweet on October 10th.

Ma is a strong advocate of an open and market-driven economy. Speculation that the disappearance may be linked to a speech Ma gave where he said, “Today’s financial system is the legacy of the Industrial Age.” Ma also said, “We must set up a new one for the next generation and young people. We must reform the current system.”

Could his criticism of China’s regulation system cause his disappearance?
