The shortage isn't because people are selfish. It's because people don't trust the system. They've seen the scandals. Read the investigations. Know there's money involved. That's not paranoia. That's pattern recognition. Hospitals charge a million per transplant. Surgeons make six figures per procedure. Tissue banks sell placentas. Abortion clinics sell fetal tissue. Everyone profits except the donor. That's not ethics. That's hypocrisy.\r\n\r\n[MALE] So are you actually a scumbag for not being a \r\ndonor?\r\n\r\n[FEMALE] Maybe. But don't call me naive. I know what I'm worth. And I'm not giving it away for free to a system that profits from my death and calls it charity. You do you. But me? I'm keeping my organs.
