Around 593 BC, a Hebrew prophet named Ezekiel had a vision that would puzzle theologians, confuse scholars, and fascinate UFO researchers for thousands of years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He described seeing a “wheel within a wheel” descending from the sky. Beings of fire and light. Technology that defied comprehension. Movement that seemed impossible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And he wrote it all down in what would become the Book of Ezekiel, chapter 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christians call it a vision of God’s glory. Jewish mystics call it a glimpse of the divine chariot. Ancient astronaut theorists call it a UFO sighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what if they’re all describing the same thing?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I looked, and I saw a windstorm coming from the north\u2014an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The center of the fire looked like glowing metal.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Okay. Storm, lightning, bright light, glowing metal. So far, this could be a lot of things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But then it gets weird.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In the fire was what looked like four living creatures. They had the form of men, but each had four faces and four wings… Their legs were straight; their feet were like those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Four-faced beings. Metallic legs. Bronze-like material. Wings (or what looked like wings).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still with me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Their faces looked like this: Each had the face of a man, and on the right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Four faces. Human, lion, ox, eagle. Rotating? Multidirectional? Ezekiel’s trying to describe something he’s never seen before, using animals he knows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then we get to the part that makes UFO researchers lose their minds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces. This was the appearance of the wheels and their structure: They sparkled like topaz, and all four looked alike. A wheel within a wheel.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the creatures faced; the wheels did not change direction as the creatures went. Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Let’s pause here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wheels that moved in any direction without turning. Rims covered in “eyes.” Sparkling like gemstones. Moving in perfect coordination with the beings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ezekiel is describing something that moves like no wheel he’s ever seen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ancient Astronaut Interpretation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 1968, Erich von D\u00e4niken published Chariots of the Gods<\/em> and brought Ezekiel’s vision into the UFO conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His argument was simple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ezekiel saw a spacecraft.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “wheel within a wheel” was a gyroscopic propulsion system. The “eyes all around” were portholes or lights. The “living creatures” were astronauts in suits. The “wings” were mechanical appendages or exhaust systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “eyes all around” symbolize God’s all-seeing nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a vision of God’s glory<\/strong>, not a spacecraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that’s a perfectly valid interpretation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But here’s the thing: both interpretations require Ezekiel to have seen something.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you believe it was divine or extraterrestrial, something happened.<\/strong> Ezekiel wasn’t just making this up. He saw something<\/em> so profound, so beyond his understanding, that he spent an entire chapter trying to describe it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if we don’t have to choose between “religious vision” and “alien spacecraft”?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Sumerian texts<\/strong> describe the “Anunnaki”\u2014beings who came from the sky and created humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Egyptian hieroglyphs<\/strong> at Abydos show what look like helicopters, submarines, and aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Every ancient culture has stories of beings descending from the sky. Gods. Angels. Star people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What if they were all seeing the same thing?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Modern Connection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Fast-forward to 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Religious people don’t want to admit that angels might be extraterrestrials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Secular people don’t want to admit that UFOs might be connected to spirituality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    But what if the truth is somewhere in between?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What if “divine” and “extraterrestrial” aren’t opposites\u2014they’re just different ways of describing beings more advanced than us?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We’ll probably never know for sure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maybe it was a mystical vision of God’s throne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maybe it was an alien spacecraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maybe it was an interdimensional craft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maybe it was a psychological experience triggered by isolation and stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Or maybe\u2014just maybe\u2014Ezekiel saw exactly what he said he saw:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    And he wrote it down, as accurately as his Bronze Age vocabulary would allow, hoping that someday, someone would understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Real Mystery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The real mystery isn’t whether Ezekiel saw a UFO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The real mystery is why we’re so desperate to pick one explanation and dismiss all the others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Why can’t it be both?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Why can’t advanced beings use technology that looks divine to primitive humans?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Why can’t spiritual experiences involve physical objects that we don’t yet understand?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Why does “angel” and “extraterrestrial” have to be mutually exclusive?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maybe the ancients knew something we forgot.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maybe they understood that the line between the physical and spiritual, the technological and the divine, the earthly and the extraterrestrial…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    …isn’t a line at all.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maybe Ezekiel’s wheel wasn’t a vision or<\/strong> a UFO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maybe it was both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    And maybe that’s exactly what he was trying to tell us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Takeaway<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Ezekiel saw something. That much is clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Whether it was God, angels, aliens, interdimensional beings, or something we don’t even have words for yet\u2014something appeared to him that defied explanation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    And he did what any honest witness would do: he described it as accurately as he could, given the tools he had.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2,600 years later, we’re still trying to figure out what he saw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maybe that’s the point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maybe some truths are too big for one explanation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maybe the answer isn’t “God” or<\/strong> “aliens.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maybe the answer is “yes.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    And maybe Ezekiel’s wheel\u2014spinning in the sky, covered in eyes, moving in impossible directions\u2014was the first documented encounter with something humanity still doesn’t fully understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Welcome to the mystery.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The wheel is still turning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
