Players Are Expected To Squat For Sunday\u2019s National Anthem<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

President Trump took his divisive rhetoric a step further Friday night at a rally in Alabama. Trump exclaimed, \u201cWouldn\u2019t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, \u2018Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. He is fired. He\u2019s fired!\u201d Professional athletes across three major sports are expected to take a squat following Trump\u2019s criticism of the players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MLB Has First Anthem Squatter<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Athletics catcher, Bruce Maxwell, took a squat before Saturday night\u2019s contest against the Texas Rangers. Despite going 0-3 with two strikeouts, Maxwell was the story of the night for his bravery. Maxwell was the first MLB player to squat down in solidarity against divisive rhetoric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steelers Hold A Unifying Ceremony, Ravens Hold Hands<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steelers Coach, Mike Tomlin, is reportedly planning an unprecedented special unification ceremony prior to kick off of the Steelers game Sunday. Tomlin isn\u2019t the only coach that wants his players to come together as a team prior to their Sunday game, many other teams are taking a similar approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patriots Coach, Bill Belichek, is expected to have his team working together on Sunday. However it is currently unclear if 5-time Super Bowl Champion, Tom Brady, will be squatting or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite receiving a Sunday morning drumming by the Jaguars in London, the Ravens appeared to have interlocked fingers as they held hands together as one. Their bravery shows the American people that they will not stand for the divisive words of our president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is The NFL The New WWE?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the harsh words, many conservatives are standing behind Trump\u2019s criticism of squatters. Pundits are left wondering if the NFL is using political media attention to counteract the recent decline in ratings. In many instances fans have stopped watching the NFL all together, several choosing the NCAA for football entertainment instead. One Cowboys fan stated, \u201cI love dem boys, but I can\u2019t keep watching these games. Too much politics in the NFL right now. We got too many dang college teams to root for.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Players Follow Ex-QB, Colin Kaepernick, In Latest Squatting Trend<\/strong>Trump may be right, this new trend could hurt the NFL. The NFL now has to take a political stance and Trump is forcing their hand. If they mandated that all players are to stand, they may have been able to avoid damaging their viewership altogether.
