Joe Biden claimed that inflation is “going down” if you don’t count gas and food. However, this claim is misleading. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) does not include volatile items like gas and food, so it is not an accurate measure of inflation. In addition, the CPI only measures prices, not wages. This means that it doesn’t take into account how much people are actually able to spend. For these reasons, Joe Biden’s claim that inflation is “going down” if you don’t count gas and food is inaccurate and misleading.

Is the 8.6% inflation rate generous?

Inflation in Europe is pretty much the same as it is in the US. The dollar has held its value better than the Euro. If this was all the fault of the FED and the Central Banks, the rest of the world would go along with the FED. The choice is always between recession and inflation, but there are a lot of considerations, including the obvious political implications. One major concern is that inflation erodes the purchasing power of savings, so people on limited incomes can find themselves struggling to make ends meet. Another is that high inflation can lead to social unrest and even revolution, as people become disgruntled with the government’s inability to control prices. So while there may be no easy answers when it comes to inflation, it’s important to weigh all of the potential consequences before making any decisions.

We really do hope that the Biden administration’s bullshit will become true about inflation decreasing. Much of the consensus is we are in for more economic pain. The problem is two-fold: We’re still trying to recover from the pandemic while also contending with supply chain issues. The United States went on a wild money printing venture during the pandemic. The economy burst with this influx, but in the long run created a depreciation of the overall currency.

All of this is taking a toll on consumer confidence, which is essential for driving economic growth. So while we’re all hoping for a speedy recovery, it’s important to be realistic about the challenges that lie ahead.
